Stomping At The Savoy Show 8

Stomping At The Savoy is back after a short break with more classics from the golden age of Guernsey’s rock and pop scene.

This weeks “Legacy” track comes from a prolific composer who wrote and recorded in Guernsey.

Barry Gray was a prolific composer, best known for composing the music for Gerry Anderson’s Thunderbirds”, “Captain Scarlet” and “Joe 90”. He moved from Esher to Guernsey in 1970 And continues to compose for Anderson’s live action series “UFO” and “Space 1999”

Later, after his retirement, he served as resident pianist at the Old Government House Hotel.

As a tribute, we’re playing a remixed version of one of his 1970’s themes from “UFO”.

We’re also reprising the tracks recently re-released from Seeing Red -originally released in Guernsey in 1985, the tracks “Ice” and “Weekahead” have been re-mastered and repackaged on a limited edition 12” red vinyl record by Dead Wax records, and I’ll be playing the tracks in full, back to back.
